Join us for the next Strauss Wisneski Virtual Lecture on Tuesday, December 1 2026, 12:00p-1:00p MST to learn more about why spending time in nature makes us feel better. The lecture will explore the growing body of research linking nature exposure with cognitive restoration, stress recovery, improved mental health, sleep, and overall well-being. Drawing on current research and professional practice as an Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT) guide, Dr. Farewell will discuss the mechanisms through which nature experiences may influence health and highlight emerging opportunities for nature-based interventions in clinical and public health settings. All are welcome and registration is not required.
Charlotte Farewell, PhD, MPH, is an Associate Research Professor at the Colorado School of Public Health and a certified Forest Therapy Guide through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT). Her research examines non-pharmacological strengths-based approaches, including nature-based interventions, to support the sleep and mental health of perinatal women and educators. She is particularly interested in how experiences in nature can foster resilience, support mental health, and promote holistic well-being across diverse populations.
Visit the Strauss-Wisneski Indigenous & Integrative Health Collection for more information on the collection or to be added to the Lecture Series email distribution list to be notified of upcoming events.
