Turn Around Time

Requests are processed on a first-come, first-serve basis, with priority given to requests from academic users. Turn around times do not include weekends & state holidays. Turn around is not guaranteed on articles we have to borrow because we rely on the supplying libraries. Document delivery of in-house articles is faster. Physical items (i.e. books) may take up to two weeks. 

• When you request an eBook, if it is not available in that format, a physical book will ordered.
• PDFs stay in your ILLiad account for 30 days. Download all PDFs to your computer once you receive them to avoid duplication.

Delivery Options

• ILLiad Email (PDF): Articles, book chapters, etc. are posted to the ILLiad web site in your ILLiad account. You will receive email notification and a link to login to ILLiad when the PDF is available. Article copies will not be sent to your email address directly. You will only receive notification and messages about your requests to your email address.
• Books and other physical materials are picked up at Strauss Library by you, or we consider alternatives on a case-by-case basis.

• MasterCard or Visa
• If you are subject to fee for service, you will be charged the regular service rate and be billed appropriately at the end of the month for all filled requests. Requests we cancel and do not fill are not billed.

The Strauss Health Sciences Library abides by all provisions of the U.S. Copyright Law. We reserve the right to refuse any request believed to be in violation of that law.

Transactions are stored in a separate, secure system that the library does not control, and these data are not automatically de-identified. Your name and the item you request may be transmitted to the lending library. Please contact Interlibrary Loan if you would like to know more.
