Donate to the Library

The Strauss Health Sciences Library is grateful for the numerous donations that have enriched our collection. Donations provide a valuable supplement to the library's limited resources budget.

Guidelines for Donating Resources

Materials most suitable for donation include:

  • Books and other items published by Anschutz Medical Campus faculty,
  • New editions of relevant health sciences texts.

Potential donors are asked to submit a list of the items they wish to donate. For books, please include the title, author(s), publisher, and date of publication. Please list journals by their titles and include the volume, issue number(s) and dates. The library is unable to accept materials prior to the receipt of a written description. We ask that you arrange for the delivery of materials to the library; unfortunately, we do not have the personnel or transport to provide this service.

The Strauss Health Sciences Library reserves the right to use or dispose of any donated materials. If your materials are not added to the library's collection they may be discarded. Each donor is sent a letter of acknowledgement. Please retain a copy of the letter and your detailed list of donated materials to support tax deduction claims. Provisions of the 1984 Tax Reform Act place the responsibility for estimating the value of donations upon the donor rather than on the recipient of the gift.

If you would like to explore other donation options, please visit the International Donations Program site at the University of Buffalo or consider donating to Dream Books.

We appreciate your support of the Strauss Health Sciences Library.
