This bronze plaque in the Krugman Memorial Garden on the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus honors Mary Krugman, whose visionary leadership and lifelong dedication to nursing education and excellence profoundly shaped the University of Colorado Hospital and College of Nursing.
The Krugman's Memorial Garden. In Memory of Mary E. Krugman, PhD, RN, NEA-BC, FAAN, 10/11/1943 – 04/12/2023. Drawn to nursing while in isolation with polio as a child, her vision, leadership, and dedication to nursing excellence was extraordinary. She is remembered for her quarter century of service to the University of Colorado Hospital (UCH) and the CU College of Nursing. She helped UCH become a nationally recognized institution and positively impacted the lives of countless patients, nurses, physicians and administrators by creating an environment that provided continuing education which assured the highest quality care with the best patient outcomes.
