Amesse Leisure Reading Collection

The Amesse Leisure Reading collection includes novels, biographies and nonfiction, in addition to some popular magazines and newspapers. The Amesse Collection is located in the Strauss Health Science Library's first floor Information Commons, not in the third floor Special Collections Room.

Bartecchi Southeast Asia Conflict Medical Collection

Donated by Dr. Carl E. Bartecchi, the Bartecchi Southeast Asia Conflict Medical Collection is a collection of books on the conflicts that occurred in Vietnam and Southeast Asia during 1950s through the 1970s. It includes works on medical topics, politics, biographies, and fiction related to the time period.

CU Anschutz Digital Collections (access to repository)

CU Anschutz Digital Collections is an institutional repository which complements traditional means of scholarly communication, such as peer-reviewed journals, by expanding the readership and availability of scholarly research and encouraging submissions. Learn more about the repository.

Dr. David Braddock Disabilities Studies Collection

This collection of books is related to the history of disabilities and disabled persons. The Coleman Institute for Cognitive Disabilities donated the collection to the library in 2019 on behalf of Dr. David Braddock.

Henry & Janet Claman Medical Humanities Collection

​Formerly the Arts in Medicine Collection, the Henry & Janet Claman Medical Humanities Collection includes resources related to the humanities (literature, philosophy, ethics, history and religion, social sciences, anthropology, cultural studies, psychology, sociology), and the arts (literature, theater, music, film, and visual arts) and their application to health sciences education and practice. Books, DVDs, and online resources are included in this endowed collection.

James J. Waring History of Medicine & Health Sciences Collection

The circulating History of Medicine and Health Sciences collection consists of modern works on the history of medicine and works published between 1875 and 1913 that do not require the special handling of rare materials.

Dr. Lawrence H. Meskin Dental Collection

The Dr. Lawrence H. Meskin Dental Collection is a collection of books and journal issues on dental education. In addition to the donation of books, the library received a donation of archives from Dr. Meskin.

PASCAL

Learn more about The Preservation and Access Service Center for Colorado Academic Libraries (PASCAL), the state-of-the-art high density library storage facility located on the Anschutz Medical campus. 

Rare Materials Collection

The Rare Materials Collection contains materials requiring special handling and storage due to age, rarity, monetary value, physical format or condition, and in some cases subject matter. Access to the Rare Materials Collection is restricted. Researchers are not allowed access to the Rare Materials storage areas. All materials must be requested individually. Most of the rare materials are listed in Library Search with a location code of HSL Rare. Rare books, journals, and photographs are available by appointment only. Access the Rare Materials policy here.

Strauss-Wisneski Indigenous & Integrative Health Collection

The Strauss-Wisneski Indigenous & Integrative Health Collection includes books, journals and other resources related to complementary health practices from around the world.
