Strauss Library Administration is responsible for strategic planning and daily operations of the library. This includes budgeting, HR, emergency management, donor relations, and collaborations with partner organizations in the state and across the nation.
The Collection Management Department at the Strauss Library is responsible for growing and facilitating access to library collections, include artifacts, electronic books and journals, databases, print books, rare materials, and special themed collections. We also manage the CU Anschutz Digital Collections, the campus institutional repository for historical and current research materials.
The faculty of the Strauss Health Sciences Library Education & Research Department provide teaching and training on topics such as research methods, citation management with EndNote, clinical information, and data management. We also collaborate with faculty in AMC schools and colleges to integrate research topics into the curriculum. The professional literature searching service provides support and collaborative opportunities from research consultations to co-authoring in systematic reviews and other advanced projects.
Strauss Library IT provides tech support for library workstations, in addition to supporting wireless printing and wireless connectivity issues for in-library users. We provide audiovisual and IT support for events in the library, and we support the Record Now DIY video studio. Library IT also builds, tests and maintains the library’s web services to Anschutz Medical Campus, including the library website and off-campus access to library resources.
PASCAL, the Preservation and Access Service Center for Colorado Academic Libraries, is the state-of-the-art high density library storage facility located on the new Anschutz Medical Campus. Operating since March of 2001, The Strauss Health Sciences Library shares PASCAL with three other academic libraries: Norlin Library and the Wise Law Library of CU Boulder and Auraria Library.
