The award honors John Conger, a child psychologist and pioneer in developmental and clinical psychology whose work had a profound impact on child policy in the United States.

After supporting early lectureships, Dr. Camp realized that none of the campus visiting lectureships honored women, a moment that shaped her philanthropic focus. She established the Lula Lubchenco Perinatal Endowment (now linked to the Lula O. Lubchenco, MD Endowed Chair in Neonatology) in honor of the pioneering pediatrician and researcher, whose work transformed neonatal care worldwide. The fund supports the Lula Lubchenco Lectureship in the Department of Pediatrics and reflects Dr. Camp’s commitment to elevating women leaders in medicine.

Camp deepens her commitment to visiting lectureships by supporting the Frankenburg Lectureship and Visiting Professorship, honoring Dr. William K. Frankenburg’s pioneering work in establishing developmental screening as a standard in pediatric care worldwide. Through the Frankenburg-Camp Endowed Fund, the annual program brings leaders in developmental and behavioral pediatrics to campus for Grand Rounds and collaboration with trainees, faculty, and community providers, while advancing research, training, and advocacy for vulnerable children.

The Gretchen Domek, MD Fund for Developmental Pediatrics is established in 2015, with Dr. Camp beginning significant contributions in 2025. The fund supports developmental pediatrics initiatives, including research, education, and programs that improve early childhood developmental outcomes for at-risk and underserved populations.

Recognizing the underrepresentation of women faculty in the School of Medicine, in collaboration with Nancy Gary, PsyD, a longtime School of Medicine supporter and Piton Foundation board member, Bonnie establishes the Ruth Fuller, MD Endowed Lectureship Fund. The lectureship focuses on cultural competency, inclusivity, and diversity in medicine and honors Fuller, a longtime faculty member in the Department of Psychiatry who died in 2014.
