Dr. LaRae Washington starts her career as a regional medical officer with the U.S. Department of State’s Foreign Service, serving in regions such as West Africa, the Middle East, Russia, and the Caribbean, and for a time directly under Secretary of State, Alexander Haig.
Serves as the first African American Assistant Secretary of State for Health Affairs and Medical Director of the Office of Medical Services. Here she directs a managed care program serving 30,000 employees living worldwide and 150 internationally based US Health Clinics.
Dr. Kemp transitions to working for the United States Postal Service as an Associate Area Medical Director managing regional occupational medical programs.
Becomes the Senior Area Medical Director for USPS managing regional occupational medical programs in numerous states.
Dr. Kemp serves as medical director for the Foundation for HealthCare for Humanity, an organization dedicated to supporting the development of medical programs in underserved areas.
Serves as a medical consultant for Rocksound, a non-profit that supports underserved populations.
