Strauss Library has updated furniture in a variety of rooms over the past year. Last year, the Tower and the Video Conference rooms on the third floor received new conference tables and chairs. Our Tower Room (3100) has comfortable executive-type chairs and flexible sectional tables that allow for diverse configurations. The chairs in the Video Conference Room (3203) are lightweight, provide a thicker seat cushion for this type of chair, and use a torsion flex design delivering solid lumbar support and exceptional comfort for long sessions. The Video Conference room provides a horseshoe table configuration facing a wall-mounted LCD audio-video system.

Last month in January, new chairs and tables were installed in a variety of study rooms in the library including the immensely popular 1305 study room on the first floor which is great for large groups. Study rooms 2301-2304 received all new tables and chairs. Additionally, the large study rooms on the third floor (3301, 3302) were outfitted with new tables and quality task chairs providing extra comfort for longer sitting periods. Most of the older chairs on the second floor were replaced with fine upholstered chairs answering the call from students that many of the floor’s chairs were worn out.
