Course Reserve FAQ

Q: How do I place items on reserve?

A: Access the online form for Course Reserves Request here. Andrew Gagnon will contact you after your form has been received to arrange delivery of reserve materials to the library.

Q: Are there any restrictions on what can be placed on reserve?

A: Strauss Health Sciences Library Reserve Policy operates in order for faculty members & instructors to get copies of assigned materials to students in their classes. The system is not to be used for any other purpose. The library only processes physical materials for its course reserves.

Q: Do I have to bring my own copy to put on reserve?

A: Check Library Search, the library's online catalog, to determine if the library has a copy of the item before placing a personal copy on reserve. It is preferred to have the library copy on reserve whenever possible. Personal copies of materials will be added to the reserve collection, if desired. The Strauss Health Sciences library does not take any responsibility for the damage of personal copy materials.

Q: When is the best time to put my materials on reserve?

A: To ensure reserve materials are available for students at the beginning of the term, materials should be submitted to the library at least one week prior to the starting date of the class.

Q: When and how do my materials get returned to me?

A: Course Reserves will be returned to their owners after each semester. If an instructor cannot pick up their materials they will be mailed directly to their Campus Box or Address. If the instructor no longer wants the item it will be removed from the collection and donated.

Q: Who do I contact with questions on placing items on reserve?

A: If any additional questions arise contact Andrew Gagnon, Access Services Specialist, by email at andrew.j.gagnon@cuanschutz.edu.
