The second floor of the Strauss Library is a dedicated quiet study space. The Study Zone is considered a silent space. please be considerate to those around and refrain from phone conversations, audible webinars, music, and other distractions. Second Floor Map Details

Elevators

  • North Elevator - Located in the northeast section of the Strauss Library, 2nd Floor.
  • South Elevator - Located in the southeast section of the Strauss Library, 2nd Floor.

Stairs

  • Main staircase – Located in the center of the library, it can be accessed at the north end of the Strauss Library, 2nd Floor.
  • Spiral stairs - located in the south section of the Strauss Library, 2nd Floor.

Emergency Exits

There are three Emergency Exits on the second floor of the Strauss Library. One in the southeast corner, one in the northeast corner, and one in the west section of the building close to the InWorks offices.

Restrooms

  • All Gender restrooms are located in the northeast section of the Strauss Library, 2nd Floor.
  • Men and women’s restrooms are located in the southeast section of the Strauss Library, 2nd Floor.

Study Rooms

There are study rooms available for single or group study. The rooms must be reserved before using. There are study rooms located in the west and southeast sections of the Strauss Library, 2nd Floor. Click here for more information on Study Rooms.

Study Zone

The Study Zone, room 2406, is a silent area in the library. It offers study rooms, small open areas, a nap pod room with two nap pods available, and a small kitchen. This space can only be accessed by users with an Anschutz campus ID badge. Located in the north section of the Strauss Library, 2nd Floor.

Print Journals

The bound and current print journals can be found in stacks on the Strauss Library, 2nd Floor.

Meeting Spaces

Conference Room - This conference room is available for campus use and it can be reserved. Located close to the spiral stairs in the south section of the Strauss Library, 2nd Floor. Click here for more information on reserving this conference room. 

Amenities on the Second Floor

  • Bike Workstation - A stationary bike workstation with a desktop to work on is available and is located in the west section of the Strauss Library, 2nd Floor.
  • Power Station – A space close to the bike workstation that includes kettle bell weights and a pull-up/push-up station. Located in the west section of the Strauss Library, 2nd Floor.
  • Treadmill Workstation - A walking treadmill workstation with a desktop to work on is available and is just inside the door and to the right in the Study Zone in the north section of the Strauss Library, 2nd Floor.
  • Nap Pods – Available in the nap pod room in the Study Zone in the north section of the Strauss Library, 2nd Floor.
  • Kitchen - Includes a fridge, microwave, and Keurig coffee machine located in the Study Zone in the north section of the Strauss Library, 2nd Floor.
  • Reflection Space - The Reflection Space provides a place where students can engage in a variety of activities for which a more sedate environment is desirable. Located in Room 2204 of the Strauss Library, 2nd Floor.
