Conduct Policy

The Strauss Health Sciences Library aims to provide an environment conducive to study and research.

Users of the library can expect the following:

  • Access to library resources in good condition
  • General support from library personnel during business hours. Advanced support may require appointments
  • An atmosphere conducive to study and research

Users are expected to adhere to the following:

  • Respect library materials, resources, and personnel
  • Leave when requested by staff
  • Identify themselves upon request by authorized personnel
  • The Anschutz Medical campus is tobacco free
  • Refrain from disruptive or inappropriate behavior, including:
    • Removing or damaging library property
    • Misusing facilities
    • Bringing food/drink into restricted areas, including 3rd floor Special Collections and Rare Books rooms
    • Engaging in disruptive behavior, harassment, or intimidation
    • Bringing in excessive personal belongings, including bicycles
    • Entering unauthorized areas without permission
    • Misusing computer workstations, as outlined in the Library Computer Policy or the University of Colorado System’s Providing and Using Information Technology policy, Section B. This includes, but is not limited to:
      • viewing pornography or sexually offensive material
      • online gambling on library computers

Violators may be asked to leave campus and face potential penalties. The library reserves the right to determine and address inappropriate conduct that is harmful to the library environment and mission.
