Mary begins collecting heart-shaped objects and angels after being diagnosed with Pericarditis, an inflammation of the pericardium.

Mary is diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

Dr. Krugman retires following a distinguished 23-year tenure at UC Health - University of Colorado Hospital.

Comes out of retirement temporarily to serve as Interim Dean of The University of Colorado College of Nursing.

Retires for a second time to focus on her health and family.

Mary passed away on April 12, 2023, due to a brain injury from a fall at home, a complication indirectly caused by her Parkinson’s disease.

Inducted into the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame posthumously on March 21.
