Who is a primary user?
The Strauss Health Sciences Library is funded by the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus (CU Anschutz) to serve health sciences programs and UC Health hospital personnel. The library's primary users include students currently enrolled at CU Anschutz, as well as faculty and staff paid by CU Anschutz and paid employees of UCH. Retired health sciences faculty, regular health sciences faculty paid by affiliates (National Jewish, VAMC, Denver Health, etc.), CU Regents members, and CU Medicine employees (formerly UPI) are considered primary library users as well. Unpaid volunteers are generally considered secondary patrons and are not covered by the library's licenses for online/remote access. Volunteer clinical faculty and preceptors approved by their College/School are eligible for online access as primary patrons.
Others may receive a free borrowing card and may be eligible for some on-site services, but the general public does not receive remote access to licensed online content such as eJournals from off-campus.
Please consult the Services & Fees by Patron Category page for information about library services and fees. If you have questions about what category you may fall into and the associated library privileges, consult the library application account page. Library staff will assess your status and contact you to explain your options.
