Below are wishes that faculty, staff, and students at Anschutz Campus have submitted to the library in previous years.
We have included wishes that were granted and wishes that were not granted.

I wish an ebooks section would open up with free access for students. Also a bigger section for fiction sounds good for destressing.

Thank you for your suggestion! The library subscribes to a number of ebook collections and provides access to many individual ebook titles as well. If you would like to learn how to search for any ebook collections or find ebooks on specific subjects, please contact us via AskUs for more help.
The library's Amesse Leisure Reading Collection is located on the first floor. This collection is fully supported by an endowment fund. Please feel free to suggest any books to us via the Suggest an Item form. You can also use Prospector to request books from other libraries in the state and have them delivered to the library for pickup.

Thank you for your request. We will look at our options. In the meantime, we will provide ice trays for the first floor freezer Also a reminder that there is ice available on the second and third floor!
Cafe

Fancy coffee machine to make hot or iced flavored lattes, cappuccinos, macchiatos, etc. This sooooo needed when I'm studying for 12 straight hours in the library. Or even better yet, a small cafe with baristas that offers healthy snacks and meals. A lounge area with love sacs or super comfortable chairs where you can hang out and take a break (that is not in a quiet zone). Actual sleep pods that you can book would be AMAZING (even for overnight).

We are so happy you submitted your wish. We love coffee too! Campus finance has tried a cafe in the library twice, and unfortunately it is not a sustainable model. Luckily, we do have a fancy coffee machine on the first floor by the South bathrooms. And of course, we have the Keurig machines in the kitchen spaces if you bring your own coffee pods.
We are adding some comfy seating in the library lounge area too. It's a great suggestion!
Although we don't think it is a viable option to put the nap pods on the reservation system, we will look at adding an additional pod.

Hello, I hope you're doing well. I noticed sometimes in the 2nd floor study zone there's a bit of a smell and I suspect it's coming from the carpet and so if the carpets could just get a quick freshening or cleaning, I think that would be really great.

Thank you for your wish! We always appreciate hearing from the folks who use these spaces. The Study Zone is scheduled for a carpet cleaning today and an overall deep clean soon, so hopefully you will notice a difference.

Thank you for your suggestion. This is an issue that we have discussed repeatedly in recent years. We continue to look for solutions to try to strike the right balance between first-come, first-served rooms and reservable rooms.

I think it would be nice to have an area that has something comfy to sit in like bean bags or a couch so it can be like an area to be slightly louder or just a destress corner to be able to do something to take a break from studying, also like have a charging area to charge phones and other devices in the same area. If its super fancy it can have something like for sensory destress not to sure of a good example but some activities or anything cool tbh to have destress, or a fish tank maybe.

Thank you for your suggestion! The lounge just outside the library is intended to be a space where students can take a break, relax, and be a little louder without disturbing those who are studying in the library. We appreciate your ideas and will work on adding some comfortable seating and a charging station to make the space more welcoming and convenient. While we won’t be adding a fish tank, we hope these improvements will help create a comfortable space for students to recharge, destress, and take a break from studying!

Increase RAM/processing for desktop computers with statistical programs installed on the computer (Stata, GraphPad, SAS, etc.).

Access to international consensus standards related to medical devices, such as ISO standards, ANSI AAMI, etc. This can sometimes be done through subscription services - would help immensely in translational research and in teaching regulatory affairs!
