Strauss Library Wishes was open from October 7th to October 25th, 2024.
Below are wishes that faculty, staff, and students at Anschutz Campus have submitted to the library in previous years.
We have included wishes that were granted and wishes that were not granted.
Thank you for helping make the library everything you want it to be!

It would be awesome if we could get a site license for Osmosis and other study resources!
Thank you for submitting a library wish request for Osmosis and other study resources. We have received multiple wishes for this product and understand that many students find it very useful for their study and exam preparation. We will contact the vendor for more information about the product and pricing options for the campus.
A site license for AMBOSS and Osmosis would be EXTREMELY helpful for medical students at all stages!
Thank you for submitting a library wish request for AMBOSS and Osmosis. We have received multiple requests for both and understand that many students find them very useful for their study and exam preparation. We will contact the vendors of both products for more information about the product and pricing options for the campus.
You may already know about this, but the library does subscribe to an exam prep tool BoardVitals: https://library-cuanschutz.libguides.com/BoardVitals.
I have a small laptop screen so I like to use the desktops on the first floor to extend my display. Sometimes the 1st floor can be pretty noisy so I prefer to go into study rooms to work. I tried renting out a laptop the other day to use as a second monitor to my laptop in a study room, but there wasn't a cable available to connect the two (an HDMI or USB-C). Could the desktops that are not available for public use be removed from that area and available to check out? I have more solutions ideas
Thank you. Great idea. The library will investigate some portable monitor options and purchase a few for users to checkout.

I'd like to say thank you for providing better access to menstrual products first and foremost. That was one of my wishes last year when I first started my program.
My wish for this year is to work toward improving access to clean water in the building. I work in the library a couple of days every week and I have noticed that the filter for the water bottle filler is sometimes in need of replacement. Staying hydrated is essential for productivity! Offering snacks wouldn't hurt either :)
Thank you. The library was happy to see campus Facilities install menstrual products too. We will ask about and report the water filter issue to campus Facilities because they do the maintenance on those stations and handle the filters. We want to provide fresh drinking water and understand the need to stay hydrated in Colorado—great wish! Free snacks would be great. In the meantime, we recommend you check out the vending machines at the North end of the first floor, and there is also vending in the Lounge just outside the front of the library--you can also play ping pong in the lounge.
Can we get more water bottle filling stations rather than just the one on the first floor?
Your wish is granted. There are two other water bottle filling stations on the 2nd and 3rd floors just outside the restrooms on the south end of the library, the same location as the station on the first floor. Thank you.
I would love for there to be an AMBOSS site license for all current students to use - it's a really valuable resource for USMLE exams, shelf exams, and integrates beautifully with ANKI, which many of us use. Even for those of us who don't use ANKI, AMBOSS has amazing summaries, is easy to nagivate, and provides hundreds of test prep questions. It's a pretty steep membership price per student and I think a site license would be SO helpful for complementing our lecture material.
We are delighted to announce that we are providing School of Medicine Class of 2025 and Class of 2026 students with unlimited access to the AMBOSS as a 12-month trial program.
The library also subscribes to BoardVitals: https://library-cuanschutz.libguides.com/BoardVitals. It has question banks for USMLE 1-3, and shelf exams for the following areas: NBDE I, NBDE II, NAPLEX, NCLEX RN, PANCE; Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Neurology, OBGYN, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Surgery.
